Crop

Following research on sustainable design processes and low-impact printing I set out to make prints that combined elements of sustainability and functionality.
Inspired by seed-bombing 'Crop' is a perforated, biodegradable monthly calendar and series of dyed illustration prints that you can plant. Each month has the correct wildflower seeds to sew for those conditions, they can be planted or simply left on the ground to biodegrade, the wildflowers that then grow were chosen to encourage insects and wildlife.
The paper was hand-made using leftover cotton linter from the industrial process and wildflower seeds, then shibori dyed using natural indigo. Photopolymer and a hand-press was then used to relief-print the design.
